In today’s Autura Pathways post, say hello to Caece Rodriguez!
Q: What Was Your First Role at Autura — How Did It Prepare You for Where You Are Now?
The first position I held at Autura was Upgrade Migrations Manager. In this role, I was the first person to be trained on all our products on the backend. I had fun helping the new team find its footing after our acquisition. I stayed busy helping to provide customers with the best solutions for their business and answer their account questions.
The training and product knowledge that I gained from the Upgrade Migrations Manger role helped to prepare me by giving me the tools necessary to best provide our customers with a tailored experience and product suggestions that best suited their needs.
Q: What Is Your Current Role at Autura?
My current role is Senior Implementation Manager, Team Lead for Professional Services. Specifically, I manage the TOPS onboarding and work closely with colleagues from towing and recovery implementation, Omadi onboarding, and scope upgrade progress for Tracker teams.
Q: What Are Some Career Tips You Could Share?
A few pieces of advice I have that I think contributed to my success are:
- Become an expert: In any role, understanding the full business and customer cycle allows you to see what others are doing and how that work connects with yours.
- Don’t be afraid to ask for help: Successful people propel each other. Don’t be afraid to reach out for 1:1s and find out how others are succeeding in their role. A shoutout in an all-company or team meeting, or a note in your messaging tool of choice is a great way to start those conversations!
- Think outside the box: I encourage people to think and do differently than others. This might include reaching out to people that aren’t having as much success. Together, you can learn what isn’t working, what processes need to change, and help build each other up to understand what it means to find success in your role.
Q: What Advice Would You Give to Someone Who Wants a Similar Career Trajectory?
Active listening has been one of the biggest contributors to my success. While it sounds straightforward, it requires several key elements to do well, including:
- Empathy — to genuinely understand what challenges customers are facing
- Ability to “read between the lines” — allowing you to translate what customers express into actionable insights that our product team can use to inform and drive development choices
- Asking open-ended questions — enabling you to uncover the issues customers are experiencing and fully understand what they need.
